# Warner Bros. Discovery introduces new Game of Thrones prequel on Max streaming service
Warner Bros. Discovery has confirmed a new addition to the Game of Thrones franchise, with a prequel titled “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: the Hedge Knight” set to feature on its newly-announced Max streaming service. While rumors have circulated about the new show for some time, it wasn’t clear which part of the vast Game of Thrones mythology it would draw from.
# Dunk and Egg adventure focus of new series
At a recent HBO Max rebranding event, HBO head Casey Bloys confirmed that the new show has been ordered straight to series, and will focus on Dunk and Egg. These well-known characters are a famous knight and his squire, who travel the land righting wrongs in the world of Game of Thrones. Viewers can expect a story filled with adventure as the pair take on new challenges.
# The future of Dunk and Egg characters revealed
Dunk would go on to become a celebrated member of the Kingsguard, while Egg would become Aegon V, the great-great-grandfather of Daenerys. Despite the fact that he was not prone to incest, unlike many of the Targaryen family members, the new show promises to be action-packed rather than dramatic, drawing more on The Last of Us and less on House of the Dragon.
# Renowned writers and producers on board for new show
Renowned writers George R.R. Martin and Ira Parker will take on the roles of writers and executive producers for the new show, working alongside Ryan Condal and Vince Gerardis. While no release date has been confirmed as yet, viewers can expect a high-quality production that seamlessly blends a rich storyline with thrilling adventure.
