LOOKING TO PREORDER LEGEND OF ZELDA: TEARS OF THE KINGDOM? HERE ARE YOUR OPTIONS FOR FREE BONUSES
If you’re excited for the release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and planning to preorder the game ahead of its May 12th launch, then you might want to consider the added bonuses that some retailers are offering. These can include a wooden plaque or an art print, which are free bonuses that come with no extra costs. However, if you’re a super-fan and willing to spend extra money, you can opt for the fancy Collector’s Edition set that includes lots of additional accessories (if it ever becomes available again, unfortunately).
To help you decide which preorder option offers the most value, we’ve compiled a list of the small handful of preorder bonuses for this game, specifically for the physical edition. This way, you can easily make your purchasing decision in one place.
FREE BONUSES WITH PREORDER
Best Buy is currently offering a free art print with the physical cartridge version of the game. This art print features the key art for the game, but there’s no indication of its size.
GameStop, on the other hand, is offering a wooden plaque that looks quite impressive. However, in exchange for this exclusive preorder gift, GameStop requires you to claim it in-store, which might be inconvenient for some.
Walmart is offering a free Master Sword wall scroll as a preorder gift, although the golden-colored wall scroll that was originally limited to 5,000 units has sold out. The black scroll is also “limited,” but there’s no mention of a set number, so it might become available again.
SPECIAL EDITION NINTENDO SWITCH OLED
If you’re a huge fan of the game and want to show off your dedication, you can opt for the limited edition Nintendo Switch OLED version of the game, which is now available to preorder. This beautiful-looking console comes with gold Joy-Cons and a white dock that’s all decked out in Zelda graphical adornments. However, it doesn’t include the actual game, and it costs $359.99. It’s available from Amazon, Best Buy, Target, or directly from Nintendo.
TEARS OF THE KINGDOM NINTENDO SWITCH CARRYING CASE
If you’re buying the special Zelda-themed Switch OLED, you might as well complete the look and preorder the Tears of the Kingdom Edition of the Nintendo Switch Carrying Case for $24.99. Available at Best Buy and GameStop, it comes decorated with matching markings to the special-edition console, includes a screen protector, and is set to launch on May 12th with the game. Unlike the Zelda-themed Switch Pro Controller, this case has not sold out during the preorder window.
THE ELUSIVE COLLECTOR’S EDITION
Finally, we have the highly sought-after collector’s edition of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. This edition includes the standard cartridge version of the game, along with a metal steelbook case, a poster, collector pins, and a small art book. It costs $129.99 and is currently unavailable due to high demand. Retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, and Target periodically release more preorders for this edition, but it’s uncertain whether it’ll become available again before or after May 12th.
