#GAME FREAK EXPANDS REPERTOIRE WITH NEW ACTION-ADVENTURE IP

Game Freak, the studio well known for bringing us the beloved Pokémon series, is shifting gears and developing a brand-new action-adventure intellectual property (IP) under the codename “Project Bloom.” While few details have been released regarding the upcoming title, Game Freak’s director, Kota Furushima, has stated that the new IP will be “tonally different” from the studio’s prior work.

#PRIVATE DIVISION PARTNERS WITH GAME FREAK FOR PROJECT BLOOM

To bring the project to market, Game Freak has partnered with Private Division, a publishing label under the Take-Two umbrella. Private Division has previously published hits such as The Outer Worlds and OlliOlli World. Private Division head Michael Worosz expressed his excitement to be the first Western publisher to work alongside such a successful team.

#PLANNED LAUNCH IN FISCAL YEAR 2026

While no platforms have been announced, it’s been confirmed that “Project Bloom” is still in early development. Take-Two has planned its launch for the fiscal year of 2026.

Aside from the Pokémon series, Game Freak has also released other titles like Tembo the Badass Elephant and Pocket Card Jockey. The latter was recently remade for Apple Arcade.
