Nintendo remet en ligne les versions Wii U de Mario Kart 8 et Splatoon.

**NINTENDO GAMES GO OFFLINE TO ADDRESS SECURITY ISSUE**

Nintendo recently took two popular online games, Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon, offline in order to fix a vulnerability related to online play. While details about the specific vulnerability have not been disclosed by Nintendo, a data miner suggested that it could potentially allow hackers to take over a console through online connection[^1^].

To restore online functionality for these games, players will need to download an update. However, Nintendo cautions that if additional issues arise, they may need to suspend online multiplayer for Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon without much warning[^2^]. This could be disappointing, especially considering these titles were among the bestsellers on the Wii U console[^3^]. It would be a shame for those still using the older Nintendo console to lose their ability to play these games online.

We hope that Nintendo swiftly resolves the security concerns and that players can continue enjoying Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon without any further interruptions.
