Intel affirme qu’elle n’a toujours pas trouvé la véritable solution pour les problèmes de crash de ses puces de bureau i9.

INTEL’S GAMING PROCESSORS AND INSTABILITY ISSUES

For several months, the top-tier gaming processors from Intel have been causing occasional game crashes, giving rise to concerns and investigations. Despite recent reports circulating, Intel has not yet finalized a solution for its 13th and 14th Gen Intel Core i9 processors.

According to Intel spokesperson Thomas Hannaford, the company has not confirmed the root cause of the instability reported by users related to the unlocked Intel Core desktop processors of the 13th and 14th generations.

The microcode patch mentioned in the press has addressed an eTVB bug discovered by Intel during their investigation. Although this bug may contribute to the instability, it is not identified as the primary cause.

INTEL’S INTERNAL INVESTIGATION AND LEAKED DOCUMENTS

Intel’s official statement makes reference to leaked internal documents, which shed light on the issue. The documents suggest that one part of the problem arises from Intel’s chips mistakenly overclocking their cores using Enhanced Thermal Velocity Boost (eTVB), even when operating at excessively high temperatures.

The leaked document highlighted an incorrect value in a microcode algorithm associated with the eTVB feature. It mentioned a shift in the minimum operating voltage on affected processors due to prolonged exposure to elevated core voltages. The document recommends updating the BIOS to a specific microcode version by a set deadline.

ROOT CAUSE AND POTENTIAL FIXES

While eTVB has been identified as a potential issue, it is not considered the main cause of the problem. Intel continues to investigate and collaborate with partners to address the reported instability effectively.

The focus is now on finding a comprehensive solution to ensure the optimal performance and stability of Intel’s gaming processors. We anticipate a complete resolution to the issue in the near future.
