INNOVATIVE KITCHEN LIGHTING SOLUTIONS

Have you ever struggled to find a way to install smart lighting under your kitchen cabinets? A few years ago, I faced this challenge when I wanted to add smart, tunable white lights that could also be dimmed to brighten up my countertops. Unfortunately, at that time, there were no hardwired options available for smart LED lights that could work under cabinets. The only alternatives were to connect a standard LED light strip to a smart switch, limiting the color-changing and dimming capabilities, or use a plug-in smart light strip, which resulted in multiple outlets being used and unsightly cables running through the kitchen.

Recently, at CES, I had the opportunity to see the Cync undercabinet lights in action in a simulated kitchen setup, and I was impressed by their performance. These lights have a sleek and slender profile, almost disappearing under the cabinet, while providing more light than a standard light strip. The diffuse lighting effect eliminates harsh reflections on countertops, enhancing the overall ambiance of the kitchen.

The integration of color and tunable white light in kitchen lighting is indeed a smart choice. These lights offer task lighting for cooking or cleaning, and can easily transition to dimmable, color-changing light for a cozy dinner atmosphere or relaxation time.

SMART FEATURES AND FUNCTIONALITY

Cync’s new undercabinet lights offer a range of functions that cater to different lighting needs in the kitchen. These lights are compatible with the Cync app, powered by the Savant smart home system, allowing users to set schedules, create scenes, and control them remotely. Additionally, they can be integrated with various smart home platforms for voice control and other advanced features. Physical buttons provide direct control over the lights, enhancing user convenience.

The Cync Smart Undercabinet Fixtures operate on 120V AC power and connect via 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. They are available in 12-inch ($59.99), 18-inch ($64.99), and 24-inch ($69.99) edge-lit bars, as well as three-inch diameter puck lights ($84.99). For larger spaces, up to 10 lights can be connected and powered from a single source, offering flexibility in lighting design and installation.
