# NEW LOGIN REQUIREMENTS FOR FITBIT USERS
Fitbit users will soon be required to use a Google account to log in to their devices. Existing users will have the option to switch to a Google account, while new device owners will need to use one to set up their Fitbit. # MIGRATION PROCESS SET TO BEGIN
Google previously announced that all Fitbit users must migrate to Google accounts eventually. The transition will take place gradually, and users have until 2025 to switch over. Users who want to get ahead can find prompts to start the process in the Fitbit app or head to the Settings menu. Health and wellness data will not be affected by the new login requirements.

Google states that Fitbit data will remain separate from Google Ads data and will not be used for targeted ads, following terms set by EU regulators. Users will also manage their Fitbit data from the Google Privacy Center, according to Google.
