INTRO
Dyson is taking another shot at the US robot vacuum market with the new Dyson 360 Vis Nav robot vacuum. Unlike its predecessors, the Vis Nav is designed to work better in American homes. Dyson has also announced five other new products for release but hasn’t disclosed pricing or release dates for anything other than the Gen5 vacuums.
DYSON 360 VIS NAV ROBOT VACUUM
The Dyson 360 Vis Nav robot vacuum is shorter and slimmer than the previous models. Despite its smaller size, it has even more suction power and a faster processor. Its high-level processor thinks and adapts to data collected by 26 sensors to avoid obstacles, find walls and detect dust. The robot’s side-actuator brush allows for precision edge cleaning, while its square head can reach those tricky spots that other robot vacuums usually miss. The smaller size of the Vis Nav also allows it to get under furniture as low as 3.9 inches. However, the vacuum still comes in blue, which may or may not be ideal for a product on display in people’s homes.
OTHER NEW MODELS
Dyson has also announced the Dyson Submarine with a wet roller head, which is the company’s first-ever attempt at a mopping vacuum. Two big indoor air purifiers called the Dyson Purifier Big+Quiet Formaldehyde and Dyson Purifier HEPA Big+Quiet Formaldehyde have also been announced. There’s also the fifth generation of its signature cordless stick vacuums, Dyson Gen5 Outsize and Dyson Gen5detect. Among these models, Dyson is focusing on power and precision rather than whiz-bang features.
DYSON PRODUCTS
Dyson’s simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) technology powers a small camera on top of the robot to navigate through your home. The Vis Nav works with the MyDyson app, has a 50-minute runtime, and automatically returns to its charging dock. For the Dyson Gen5detect and Gen5outsize, Dyson’s Hyperdymium motor is smaller, faster, and more powerful than its predecessors. According to Dyson, these models are eight times more powerful than the first generation of cordless vacuums. The Dyson Submarine is a new vacuum cleaner with a wet roller head that can mop up wet spills like ketchup and milk and remove dust and stains from hard floors.

Dyson’s new products are all designed to be powerful, more precise and are designed to perform better than their predecessors. Because of Dyson’s attention to detail and innovative technology, consumers can expect that these new products will be on the expensive side.
