Les utilisateurs de WhatsApp sur iOS peuvent désormais envoyer des médias non compressés en tant que fichier.

### WHATSAPP ROLLS OUT NEW FEATURE FOR IOS USERS

WhatsApp is introducing a new feature for iOS that allows users to share photos and videos as a document to maintain their original quality. According to the official changelog provided alongside WhatsApp’s 23.24.73 update on iOS, users can now easily send original quality media as a file, as an alternative to the compressed approaches the app defaults to. This new feature was spotted being tested by a small subset of users in November and is now being released to all iOS users. Although it may take some time to appear on your device, once it does, you can access it by tapping the “+” in chat, selecting “Document” and then “Choose Photo or Video.”

### PREVIEWS OF IMAGES AND VIDEOS SENT AS DOCUMENTS WON’T APPEAR IN MAIN CHAT INTERFACE

It’s important to note that images and videos sent as documents won’t show previews in the main chat interface. Recipients can tap into the file on WhatsApp to view photos and videos, but previews do not seem to appear in the main chat interface. Additionally, there’s a 2GB limit on the files that can be sent using this feature.

### WHAT ABOUT ANDROID USERS?

WhatsApp has also been testing the same feature for Android users since at least September this year, which suggests a stable release for Android devices may not be too far behind.
