YouTube déploie ses nouveaux jeux Playables à l’ensemble de ses utilisateurs.

EVERYONE IS PLAYING GAMES NOWADAYS

YouTube has joined the trend of companies diving into gaming, introducing its Playables program for both mobile and desktop users. By visiting YouTube’s website or using the Android/iOS app, players can easily access Playables and enjoy over 75 games, ranging from chess and crossword puzzles to popular mobile titles like Angry Birds Showdown!, Trivia Crack, and Cut the Rope.

YOUTUBE’S GAMING JOURNEY

Last year, YouTube ventured into gaming by offering Playables exclusively to YouTube Premium subscribers. This initial phase featured a smaller selection of games and was only available for a limited time, concluding in March of this year.

TECH GIANTS EMBRACE CASUAL GAMES

Tech companies are increasingly turning to casual games as a strategy to attract and retain subscribers. LinkedIn, for instance, recently launched its own game offerings, which have received positive feedback for their entertainment value. Other major players like The New York Times, Hearst, and Netflix have also integrated games into their services. Even Google, YouTube’s parent company, ventured into gaming with the ill-fated Google Stadia cloud gaming subscription service, which was shut down in 2023 after just over three years of operation.
