RIDLEY SCOTT RETURNS WITH A NEW GLADIATOR SEQUEL

A NEW LEGEND UNFOLDS IN GLADIATOR II

Set decades after the events of the first film, Gladiator II follows the story of Lucius Verus, played by Paul Mescal, as he becomes an enslaved gladiator despite being the former heir to the Roman empire. Lucius, haunted by memories of his childhood but lacking recollections of his mother Lucilla, crosses paths with the powerful Macrinus, portrayed by Denzel Washington.

THE RISE OF LUCIUS VERUS AS A GLADIATOR

Macrinus, a dealer in weapons and warriors, sees great potential in Lucius as he witnesses his skills in combat, including a fierce battle with a rhino in the Coliseum. Though adept at killing animals, Lucius harbors a deeper desire to confront Rome’s new leaders – Emperor Geta, Emperor Caracalla, and General Marcus Acacius.
