# TRAVEL THROUGH TIME AND SPACE WITH NEW BABYLON 5 FILM
Preparing for lift-off, Babylon 5 fans should be excited about a new film in the making. The synopsis, according to The Hollywood Reporter, involves John Sheridan, played by Bruce Boxleitner, being transported into different timelines and realities and hoping to make his way home. Along the journey, he is reunited with familiar faces while also learning new cosmic revelations about the universe.
# RETURN OF ORIGINAL CAST MEMBERS AND CHARACTERS
What’s even more surprising is that many of the original actors who passed away will also have their characters’ voices featured through new actors. This is a multiverse play, and the characters may not necessarily be the same as the ones we remember. Writer and creator J. Michael Straczynski, known for his excellent Netflix series Sense8, co-created with the Wachowskis, is well equipped storytelling with shifting, intertwined personalities.
# WHERE IN THE TIMELINE IS THE STORY SET?
It’s not clear which era the new film is set in, or even if it matters. Without giving anything away, fans say that Sheridan’s story was wrapped up nicely in the original show but still left room for expansion. Straczynski said on Twitter that the upcoming film “feels the most B5-ish of anything we’ve done since the original show” and is scheduled to debut at San Diego Comic-Con 2023 on July 20th.
