L’année phare de Nintendo ne se résume pas qu’aux jeux vidéo.

NINTENDO: A COMPANY IN ITS PRIME

Nintendo is a company known for its cycles of success and decline. However, on the eve of the launch of what could be the biggest game of the year, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and after a hit theme park and movie in the past few months, Nintendo is now at the peak of its powers.

While Nintendo is mostly known for its video games, the company has always considered itself an entertainment company. This is evident in its expansion into theme parks and movies, as well as the immense popularity of its Switch console.

Nintendo’s Wii U console was its worst-selling platform ever, selling only 13 million units, whereas Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has sold 40 million copies on the Switch. However, Nintendo has made a successful comeback with its theme park, movie, and video game releases.

Nintendo’s success was not guaranteed, and its expansion into mobile gaming with Super Mario Run was largely unsuccessful. Despite this setback, Nintendo’s recent successes indicate that the company is operating at an all-time high.

Nintendo’s next move is uncertain, but the company’s momentum is strong. While the Switch’s sales have declined, Nintendo could follow in the footsteps of Xbox and PlayStation and release games across multiple generations. Only time will tell what Nintendo’s next venture will be, but one thing is clear: Nintendo is a company in its prime.
