Ubisoft investit encore davantage dans Assassin’s Creed.

UBISOFT TO INCREASE WORKFORCE ON ASSASSIN’S CREED FRANCHISE

Ubisoft has revealed that it will be hiring more people to work on the Assassin’s Creed franchise, citing a large opportunity for growth. The company plans to increase its investment in the series by 40% over the coming years, with the intention of achieving ambitious expansion. This decision comes as a strategic focus on Ubisoft’s biggest growth opportunities and a progression towards reallocating resources. Currently, the franchise has approximately 2,000 individuals working on it.

ASSASSIN’S CREED VALHALLA EXECUTES SUCCESSFULLY

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, the latest instalment in the franchise, has been a huge hit amongst gamers. It has 44% more players life-to-date than its predecessor, Assassin’s Creed Origins, and 19% more than Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Furthermore, it has higher revenue per player, resulting in life-to-date net bookings of +82% and +61% compared to Origins and Odyssey, respectively.

STAFF NEEDED FOR EXPANDING SLATE OF ASSASSIN’S CREED GAMES

With Ubisoft’s announcement of a new slate of Assassin’s Creed games, including an anticipated launch of Assassin’s Creed Mirage this year, the company is already working on two more mainline games, a mobile game and a multiplayer-focused game. Additionally, there is an entire Assassin’s Creed hub project dubbed “Infinity” in development. These significant upcoming projects demand a great deal of dedicated team members to meet their expected deadlines.

FREE-TO-PLAY GAMES IN THE WORKS

Ubisoft is also excited about its upcoming free-to-play games. Its closed beta of the shooter game XDefiant had over 1 million players, and the company is preparing tests for Rainbow Six Mobile, The Division Resurgence, and The Division Heartland. Ubisoft has also shared that Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, pirate game Skull and Bones, and an unspecified “large game” are all scheduled for release over the next two years.

UBISOFT FORWARD EVENT

Ubisoft will share more details on these forthcoming projects at its Ubisoft Forward event on June 12th, 2023.
