TikTok et Universal Music Group mettent fin à leur querelle avec un nouvel accord

## UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP SIGNS NEW DEAL WITH TIKTOK

Universal Music Group has recently signed a new deal with TikTok, allowing its roster of artists such as Taylor Swift, Drake, and Olivia Rodrigo to return to the platform. The agreement is described as “multi-dimensional,” and comes after UMG started pulling its music from TikTok on February 1st due to an expired contract.

## FOCUS ON GENERATIVE AI CONCERNS

One key aspect of the deal is addressing concerns surrounding generative AI. Both TikTok and UMG have committed to working together to ensure that AI development in the music industry protects human artistry and the economic interests of artists and songwriters. This collaboration aims to remove unauthorized AI-generated music from the platform and enhance artist and songwriter attribution.

## RESPONSIBLE AI DEVELOPMENT

Ole Obermann, TikTok’s Global Head of Music Business Development, expressed excitement about the return of UMG and UMPG to TikTok. He emphasized the importance of developing AI tools responsibly to foster a new era of musical creativity and fan engagement while safeguarding human creativity.

## NEW MONETIZATION OPPORTUNITIES AND E-COMMERCE

The deal also includes the exploration of new monetization opportunities stemming from TikTok’s expanding e-commerce capabilities. TikTok is committed to developing tools to assist artists in optimizing the platform, including analytics and integrated ticketing features.

## EXPEDITIOUS RETURN OF ARTISTS

Both companies are working swiftly to bring artists back to the platform, indicating a sense of urgency in re-establishing their presence on TikTok.
