La nouvelle caméra intérieure Ring est la première à posséder un volet de confidentialité physique.

RING PRESENTS ITS NEW INDOOR CAMERA WITH MANUAL PRIVACY COVER

Smart home security company Ring has recently released its latest indoor camera, and it comes with a new privacy feature that is unlike any other home security camera in the market. The new Ring Indoor Cam comes with a manual privacy cover that is capable of disabling both audio and video recording. This physical shut-off system is the first of its kind in a Ring home security camera. Previously, users had to turn off audio and video recording through the app, unplug the camera from the socket, or purchase a separate privacy kit that only disabled video, not audio.

REVAMPED CAMERA WITH ALL THE SAME SPECS

The new Ring Indoor Cam boasts all the same hardware specs as its predecessor, such as motion-activated recording, two-way talk, built-in siren, 1080p HD video, and color night vision. The device is wired and can easily be adjusted with its new mount design. The new camera can also be preordered from Amazon.com for $59.99, and it will start to ship on May 24th, 2023.

A BETTER OPTION THAN THE COMPANY’S PREVIOUS CAMERAS

The new camera is definitely a better option for those who have been holding back from purchasing a Ring Cam because of the company’s recent decision to put its Home & Away Modes behind a paywall. This feature allows users to turn off the camera with one tap on the app’s homescreen. However, to disable it in the app without paying for a Ring subscription, users have to navigate into the device’s settings, which is not the most convenient way of doing it.

RING’S COMPETITORS ALSO OFFER PHYSICAL SHUTTERS FOR THEIR CAMERAS

Other security camera brands like Simplisafe, Arlo, and GE Cync also offer physical shutters, some of which can be remotely controlled. However, the downside of having a totally physical shutter is that if you want to check on your home remotely and left it on, there is no way to uncover it. But on the upside, nobody else can open it remotely either.

THE BENEFITS OF THE SOS FEATURE

The new Indoor Cam also works with the SOS feature that Ring recently started rolling out. The SOS for Cameras allows users to request emergency dispatch directly from a live view or the app’s dashboard. However, to access this feature users need to subscribe to Ring’s Protect Pro plan, which starts at $20 a month. This plan includes professional home monitoring for Ring’s home security system, Ring Alarm, but having a Ring Alarm is not a requirement for this feature.

In conclusion, Ring has once again delivered a product that offers its customers better security, convenience, and overall experience. The company’s new manual privacy cover is an innovative feature that we hope will set the standard for other security camera brands.
