# SAMSUNG ANNOUNCES NEW SMART MONITORS: PRICING AND SPECS REVEALED
Samsung has announced pricing and release information for their latest range of smart monitors, which are computer displays that also function as small smart TVs. The monitors come with HDMI and USB ports for peripherals, as well as built-in streaming apps like Netflix and YouTube, AirPlay support, and access to cloud gaming services from Xbox and Nvidia in select countries.
## PRICING AND AVAILABILITY
The range begins with the 1080p Samsung M5, which is priced at $279.99 for the 27-inch model and $299.99 for the 32-inch version. The 4K M7 is priced at $549.99 for the 27-inch and $599.99 for the 32-inch, while the M8 model is the most expensive at $649.99 for the 27-inch and $699.99 for the 32-inch. The monitors will be available in the US from June.
## NEW FEATURES
While Samsung has been making monitors and TVs with similar functionality since 2020, the latest range includes a “My Contents” feature that displays a welcome screen on the display with photos, calendar entries, and weather information when it detects a nearby smartphone.
## SPECS
All three models come with built-in speakers, 60Hz refresh rates, and remote controls, but the M8 is the most feature-rich. It’s 4K with support for HDR10 Plus, has a peak brightness of 400 nits, and comes with a webcam in the box for video calls. It also has a built-in SmartThings Hub for controlling compatible smart home devices, and is available in white, pink, blue, or green.
The M7 has a peak brightness of 300 nits, HDR10, and no SmartThings Hub or webcam, but includes voice assistant support, a height-adjustable stand that can pivot and tilt, and a 65W USB-C port in addition to an HDMI 2.0 port and two USB-A ports.
The M5 is only 1080p with a peak brightness of 250 nits. It does not have USB-C or voice assistant support, but has an additional HDMI port instead.
## CONCLUSION
Samsung’s 2023 smart monitors are trying to be a jack-of-all-trades, but not necessarily a master of any. However, if you have limited space and want a single screen to do it all, Samsung’s smart monitors are a great option.
