**DISNEY ANNOUNCES SECOND ROUND OF LAYOFFS**

Disney has announced its second round of layoffs which began earlier this week and is expected to continue through Thursday. The decision to let go of employees was made in March of this year, with CEO Bob Iger stating that the company would be laying off around 7,000 of its workers.
According to Reuters, the second round of layoffs will affect several of the company’s corporate arms, including ESPN, Disney Entertainment, the products division, and Disney Parks’ corporate leadership. While the frontline hourly workers at Disney’s parks and resorts are not expected to be affected by the job cuts, those in corporate positions may be.
Disney Entertainment co-chairs, Alan Bergman and Dana Walden, stated in an internal memo that the senior leadership teams have been working diligently to define the future organization of the company. They have emphasized that getting it right is their priority, rather than getting it done quickly.
