# XBOX GAME PASS: PRICE INCREASE AND ITS EFFECTS
**Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass**, widely regarded as one of the best gaming deals available, is about to become slightly more expensive. Starting from tomorrow, July 6th, the popular subscription service will see a price hike of $1 to $2. This means that today is the last chance to secure a subscription at the current base price of $9.99 per month, or $14.99 per month for the Ultimate tier.
The announcement of the price increase came last month, alongside a rise in Xbox console prices outside the US. While the new base price for Xbox Game Pass will be $10.99 per month, the Ultimate tier, which includes PC Game Pass and Xbox Cloud Gaming Beta, will jump from $14.99 to $16.99 per month. It is important to note that existing subscribers will have a short grace period until August 13th before they are affected by the price increase.
While this price hike may not be the most significant in the world of digital subscriptions, it is worth considering that it might not be the last. Despite the increase, Xbox Game Pass still provides good value for those who enjoy the selection of games available, such as “Hi-Fi Rush” and the upcoming “Starfield.” However, if the service continues to follow the trend of increasingly expensive streaming video platforms, its appeal may begin to fade.
Although it may be disappointing to see Game Pass becoming more costly, it is advisable to take advantage of the current prices while there is still an opportunity to save some money on Microsoft’s subscription service.
