Le Motorola Edge 40 est un peu moins professionnel et beaucoup plus abordable.

Motorola has announced the launch of its latest budget smartphone, the Motorola Edge 40, which is a cheaper non-Pro version of the Edge 40 Pro. While the Edge 40 Pro was recently announced for the US market, its non-Pro sibling is now available in Europe for €599.99. The new smartphone comes with lower specs but still offers some nice features.

As expected, the Edge 40 has slightly downgraded specs compared to the Pro version. It has a 1080p OLED screen, which is slightly smaller at 6.55 inches compared to 6.67 inches on the Pro. Also, it has a lower refresh rate of 144Hz compared to 165Hz, but this difference might not be noticeable in practice. The Edge 40 is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8020 processor, while the Pro version has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Also, its battery is slightly smaller at 4,400mAh.

Like most budget versions, the Edge 40 drops the third telephoto camera found on the Pro version and remains lower in resolution. It comes with a main 50-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization, a 13-megapixel ultrawide with a macro mode and 120 degree field of view, and a 32-megapixel selfie camera.

While the fast charging is almost half that of the European Pro model, it is still speedy 68W and can provide up to 12 hours of battery life from just 10 minutes of charging. The phone is also dust and water-resistant, with an IP68 rating. Additionally, it features up to 15W wireless charging, dual stereo speakers, and is available in acrylic blue, as well as vegan leather green or black.

Motorola has launched the more affordable Edge 40 in Europe. Although the specs have been slightly downgraded compared to its Pro version, it still offers some exciting features. The phone will compete in a crowded market with other budget phones, but if Motorola can deliver a great user experience, then the Edge 40 might be worth considering.
