“Le dernier pèse-personne intelligent de Withings propose un mode “yeux fermés”.”

# WITHINGS INTRODUCES NEW “EYES CLOSED” MODE ON BODY SMART SCALE

If you’re someone who wants to track your health but has struggled with using a traditional scale, you’re not alone. Withings’ new Body Smart scale offers a unique solution with its new “eyes closed” mode. Instead of displaying your weight, the scale will show encouraging messages, step count, air quality, and weather, making it a helpful feature for anyone who wants to focus on measures of progress beyond just weight.

This feature is especially beneficial for those who have experienced disordered eating, are easily discouraged, or prefer to keep their weight private. Similar to the QardioBase 2, which replaced weight numbers with smiley faces, Withings’ implementation is more broad and allows users to prioritize different measures of progress.

The Body Smart also includes bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) to determine body composition by sending a small electrical signal through the feet. This allows the scale to measure body fat, visceral fat, muscle mass, and water weight. Additionally, the scale can track heart rate and introduces basal metabolic rate (BMR) and metabolic age. Withings plans to release an over-the-air update in May to enable these features along with a pregnancy mode.

Despite its features, the new scale is affordable at $99.95, making it a great option for those who want advanced tracking capabilities at an affordable price. The scale has a color screen and operates on three AAA batteries for up to 15 months. It is available in black or white in the US starting today.

Withings offers a range of smart scales, including the entry-level Body, the $199.95 Body Comp, and the $399.95 Body Scan. The Body Smart sits towards the more affordable end of this range while still providing advanced tracking features. So if you’re looking for a new way to track your health without the stress of traditional scales, Withings’ new Body Smart scale might be just right for you.
