“Thunderbolts est le dernier film Marvel touché par la grève des scénaristes”

# MARVEL’S UPCOMING FILM, THUNDERBOLTS, DELAYED DUE TO THE WRITERS STRIKE

Greetings to all our readers! Marvel fans are currently waiting in anticipation for the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film titled Thunderbolts, which focuses on the franchise’s anti-heroes. However, the production of the movie has been delayed due to the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike, according to The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline reports. Originally, the production was set to start in Atlanta in the coming weeks, but it has now been put on hold until after the strike ends.

# THE IMPACT OF THE WRITERS STRIKE

The Writers Guild of America strike, which began at the beginning of this month, has affected many productions, including Thunderbolts. The strike arose due to a dispute around pay in an increasingly streaming-dominated era, and the union representing roughly 11,500 writers from across film, television, and more went on strike in protest. The WGA is also seeking to regulate the use of generative AI in writers’ rooms.

# OTHER MARVEL PRODUCTIONS IMPACTED BY THE STRIKE

Aside from Thunderbolts, multiple other Marvel productions have experienced delays due to the ongoing strike action. The Hollywood Reporter has previously noted that the Blade reboot, starring Mahershala Ali, was the first major film to see production shut down (it was supposed to be released in September 2024, although it’s unclear if that will change). There have also been reports of disruption to Marvel TV shows, such as Daredevil: Born Again and Wonder Man.

# OTHER AFFECTED SHOWS AND FILMS

Other TV shows and films have also been affected by the strike. According to Deadline, TV shows have been impacted more than films in these early stages of the strike, with late-night talk shows among the highest-profile early casualties. Impacted projects include Yellowjackets, Stranger Things, Severance, Hacks, and the forthcoming Game of Thrones spinoff, The Hedge Knight.

# NO CONFIRMED RELEASE DATE YET

Thunderbolts had been scheduled to release in July 2024. However, the current delay due to the strike has left it unclear if this date will change as a result of the production delay. The movie stars many talented actors, including Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Sebastian Stan as Winter Soldier, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Wyatt Russell as US Agent, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. Additionally, Jake Schreier is attached to direct the film.
